About Sotomayor Wildcats Golf
Welcome to Sotomayor Wildcats Golf, proudly representing Sonia Sotomayor High School in San Antonio, Texas.
Our golf program brings student-athletes together through competition, teamwork, discipline, and a shared commitment to excellence. Whether practicing on the driving range, preparing for tournament play, or representing Sotomayor in district competition, our golfers carry Wildcat pride every step of the way.
Golf is more than a game of scores and scorecards. It challenges athletes to develop patience, confidence, integrity, and perseverance — qualities that extend far beyond the fairway.
Our Golf Program
Sonia Sotomayor High School is part of the Northside Independent School District (NISD). Our boys’ and girls’ golf teams compete in UIL District 29-6A athletics, proudly representing the Wildcats throughout the season.
The program emphasizes both individual achievement and team success. Golf is a sport where every player faces their own challenges, but every golfer also contributes to the identity, strength, and spirit of the team.
From the first tee to the final putt, being a Wildcat means representing your school, teammates, and community with pride.
Building Character Through Golf
The values of golf go hand in hand with student-athlete development. Each practice and tournament offers an opportunity to develop skills that matter both on and off the course.
- Integrity: Playing honestly, respecting the rules, and taking responsibility for every shot.
- Discipline: Developing consistency through preparation, practice, and dedication.
- Sportsmanship: Respecting fellow competitors, teammates, coaches, and the traditions of the game.
- Perseverance: Learning from difficult rounds, overcoming challenges, and continuing to improve.
- Teamwork: Supporting one another, sharing accomplishments, and representing the Wildcats together.
These lessons help prepare our student-athletes for success in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
Proud to Be Wildcats
